misplaced heart

i watched “Made of Honor” last night and shed a tear.

being the “guy-film” version of My Best Friend’s Wedding, i pretty much assumed that i would be crying my heart out. oh, don’t get me wrong. Mc Dreamy is still as dreamy as ever, but it wasn’t tugging on my heart at all. i felt i was watching the Discovery channel.

today i watched 2 movies about sport coaches and i cried a bucket. even watching the tony awards made me cry.

there’s something so passionate about musicals that i get so overwhelmed by their zeal and gusto in what they’re doing. the freedom from their inhibitions at the same time being caged in their characters and hiding their real individuality makes it so simple and complex at the same time.

so yeah, maybe my tear ducts have their own schedule and yesterday wasn’t really their time at all. hmm.

i’m out.

  1. it’s the drama that makes you love your musicals. i’ve missed your entries. good to have you back. 🙂
